From the main image we can clearly tell that this magazine is focusing on the pop/chart music genre.
We can tell this as the pose Florence is pulling represents the cockiness and personality in the way
of what a pop artist would generally act like. Florence the artist is mainly positioned on the left hand side of the page with the text on the right. This follows the conventions of a normal music magazine.
Not in difference to most double page spreads the writing is separated from the main image. This is done to ensure that the image doesn't distract or interfere with the main article text that is the prominent focus on the double page spread.
Florence's hair is red. This may have been done to ensure that her hair is a complete contrast to the overly dull background of grey and white. Also it may have been done to ensure that she the artist stands out ans makes the whole double page spread in general look more appealing to the readership of the magazine. Her hair also matches with the american flag that she is sitting on. This has been specifically done to emphasize the point that she is heading in the direction of conquering America.
The little introduction before the main content of the article gives the audience a little bit of background and slightly irrelevant information about the Florence. This may have been done to close the gap between herself and the audience. Plus the intro tells us what the article will be about and contain. Also the artists name is in a completely different colour to everything else on the page so it stands out dramatically and lets the audience know who the article is about.
Spread over the double page are the words 'USA' and got the love, which is one of the titles of her songs. This is a play on words as it is stating the USA has got the love for her specifically.
